They serve major truck fleets, bus fleets, the agriculture community, tire shops, mining operations, municipalities, and utlitiy companies.

Fort Garry Business Challenges

Fort Garry Industries (FGI), Canada’s most trusted heavy duty commercial vehicle parts supplier, offers a full range of products and services. FGI has served truck fleet companies as well as bus, utility, mining, and agriculture transportation customers for over 100 years. With their leadership in the industry, they wanted to make sure that buyers could purchase however they prefer. This led to strategic investments in the eCommerce channel to complement their other traditional selling channels. Their goal was to add a true eCommerce platform as well as further improve their customers’ experience. In addition, FGI wanted to enhance product discoverability earlier in the search process.

The Solution

Xngage partnered with FGI to define the eCommerce solution and implementation using the OroCommerce B2B platform. The first phase has been completed and has allowed FGI to realize benefits early and minimize business disruptions from multiple technical changes as a result of the ongoing digital transformation. The Xngage implementation team used FGI’s existing Online Ordering system as the base model for online ordering and leveraged OOTB features to improve the customer experience with product visibility and order history, to name only a few. Integration with the existing ERP was complex, but the Xngage technical design will make future changes simple and easy to support.

The Results

Customer satisfaction has improved with the launch of the modernized eCommerce system and the company looks forward to future improvements. FGI customer support staff are able to cultivate stronger customer relationships with less time spent on order entry and processing. With greater technical agility, FGI is preparing for its second phase of improvements. Equally as important, Matt Albus, Director of Information Technology, shared this, “Promises made and promises kept. We scoped a tight, strategic initial project, and the Xngage team delivered using their experience in both B2B and technology spaces. That’s refreshing for us and we look forward to partnering on more projects.”
